La XII edizione del Piccolo Festival di Animazione (9-19 dicembre 2019 (Trieste-Pordenone-Gorizia-Udine), tramite la giuria composta da Andrijana Ružić, Carlo Montanaro e Igor Imhoff, ha decretato i vincitori di quest’anno:

I pupazzi sembrano proprio finti, ridigi, di porcellana; la vita della foresta è manomessa dalla ripresa accelerata antinaturalistica, con un’acqua eccessivamente impetuosa; i fiori sono troppo belli, troppo vivi, tanto da trasferire la vita anche ad una bambola tanto perfetta da risultare del tutto improbabile. Eppure, tutte queste artificiosità tipiche della banalizzazione della tecnica cinematografica, invece che risultare fastidiose, riescono ad amalgamarsi creando un mondo talmente ricostruito da assumere la dimensione del sogno che rievoca fantasticamente ma anche poeticamente quel luogo, con quegli insetti, con quella specie di fata dal corpo rilucente rigido e morbido allo stesso tempo.
The puppets look fake, rigid, made of porcelain; forest life has been tampered with the anti-naturalistic, accelerated shooting. Water is excessively impetuous and the flowers are too beautiful, too vivid, so it seems they transfer life even to little doll so perfect that she looks improbable. And yet, all these artificialities typical of the trivialization of the cinematographic technique, instead of being annoying, manage to amalgamate themselves. In doing so they create a world overly reconstructed which takes on the dimension of a dream, evoking it at the same time in a fantastic and poetic way, with those insects, with that shining, rigid and softat thesame time, body of little porcelain fairy.

Essenziale, veloce, folle. Non si comprende se più anarchico o più surreale, con i moltissimi luoghi comuni che affronta, pare risolvere ma disperde. Malgrado perfino una palese crisi di identità (il doppio negativamente moltiplicato) da sciogliere dopandosi più che drogandosi. Permettendosi rimandi di una narratività negata per presupposto ma nel contempo ricercata e amalgamata dal ritmo grottescamente giocoso dell’orchestrina di ottoni.
Essential, fast, crazy. It is not clear whether it is more anarchic or more surreal, with all those commonplaces it deals with, somehow it seems it solves them but it disperses them instead. Despite even an obvious identity crisis (the dual negatively multiplied) to be resolved by doping rather than by taking drugs. It allows itself references to a denied narrative by presupposition which is at the same time sought after and amalgamated by the grotesquely playful rhythm of the brass band.
