Emile Awards 2018: in gara anche l'”Uovo” di Martina Scarpelli e le melodie di “Max & Maestro”

Svelate le 90 candidature e il programma della II edizione degli

European Animation Awards

(Lille, 7-8 dicembre 2018)

Peter Lord, Presidente della European Animation Awards (EAA) Association, Didier Brunner, Vice Presidente, Jean-Paul Commin, Secretario Generale e Matie Haroutian, Delegato Generale, hanno annunciato oggi le 90 candidature dell’edizione 2018. Da oggi fino al 30 novembre, ore 24 (ora italiana, le 23 GMT), i membri dell’Associazione potranno votare on line per eleggere i vincitori delle 18 categorie.

Intitolato alla pioniera del cinema di animazione, la regina tedesca dei ritagli e delle ombre Lotte Reiniger, l’omonimo “Lifetime Achievement” è un riconoscimento individuale concesso ogni anno per l’importante contributo di un artista in tutti gli ambiti dell’animazione, deciso dal Consiglio degli European Animation Awards. Giunto alla seconda edizione, quest’anno il “Lotte Reiniger Lifetime Achievement” verrà attribuito
a Clare Kitson, sceneggiatrice e autrice, producer e responsabile di programmazione per il BFI’s National Film Theater, redattrice di commissione per l’animazione a Channel 4 TV.

Gli EAA verranno organizzati in stretta sinergia con Noranim e Les Rencontres Audiovisuelles de Lille per ottenere un sempre maggiore ed effettivo impatto locale. Oltre alla cerimonia, verranno organizzati una serie di appuntamenti, spalmati tra il 7 e l’8 dicembre 2018:

Conferenza sull’animazione europea
Tavola rotonda ospitata dalla Guilde des Scènaristes
Masterclass Aardman con celebrazione dei 40 anni dello studio alla presenza di Peter Lord

– alla cerimonia finale degli Emile Awards seguirà una proiezione speciale de “Il Sottomarino Giallo”, lungometraggio animato del 1968 diretto da George Dunning con l’amichevole “partecipezione” dei Beatles, che quest’anno celebra il suo cinquantenario con una versione restaurata. La visione è riservata ai partecipanti alla serata di premiazione e seguirà alla sua conclusione.

“Quando venni conquistato per la prima voltta dalle potenzialità dell’animazione, era assai difficile in Gran Bretagna anche solo trovare un’opera degna di nota. C’erano ovviamente delle eccezioni, soprattutto “Il sottomarino giallo” che fu una vera e propria bussola per la nostra generazione artistica con la sua eccezionale capacità immaginifica. Altrimenti, se si era davvero interessati all’animazione occorrevano notevoli sforzi per soddisfare il proprio appetito in merito.” Peter Lord
