Maurizio Amendola

23 June 1949, Italy. Maurizio Amendola was born in Venice as the son of painter Aldo Amendola. He joined the studios of Luciano Capitanio at age 15, where he learned the finer points of cartooning. He also assisted Romano Scarpa on some animation projects in the early 1970s. Amendola’s first comics works, western and crime stories, were published in 1972-73 by publisher Gino Sansoni.
