The Forum Blanc puts transmedia in the spotlight and offers professionals two and a half days of training, reflection and debate centred on new broadcasting media. French and international producers, writers, broadcasters and institutions meet up to share skill sets and listen to accounts from experts from various backgrounds. See you in Grand-Bornand from 14th to 16th January!

As far as Tim Kring, the creator of Heroes, is concerned, “Transmedia is just a fancy word for a simple concept: telling stories across multiple platforms“. CITIA, city of moving images, organiser of the Annecy International Animation Festival, quickly  recognised the interest and questions that this still recent and growing field could inspire.
To meet the needs of professionals looking for information, CITIA created the Forum Blanc in 2010 to discuss issues related to the development of multi-platform projects, with presentations based on working experiences and accounts from international experts.
The success and appeal of the event is based on its rich, innovating and informative programme combining conferences, panel discussions, case studies and workshops to give participants a better grasp of the diversity of transmedia, in a manageable and ideal setting contributing to the quality  of the debates.

We are committed to giving an accurate account of the new uses, new writing techniques and  new business models and maintaining principles such as the importance given to creation and  the desire to foster meetings between people through case studies …”, emphasises Patrick Eveno, CITIA CEO.

Definition of transmedia: “Transmedia or transmedia storytelling is the technique of developing narrative content across  multiple forms of media differentiating the content developed and its interactivity depending on the specifics of each media. Transmedia goes beyond cross and multimedia insofar as it is not just a matter of developing one major story across complementary media, but creating unique pieces of content for each media and giving users different points of entry into the story.” (Source: http://www.definitions-marketing.com)
