Hyman EismanĀ (born March 27, 1927 – March 27, 2025) was an AmericanĀ cartoonist.[1]
Hyman Eisman was born inĀ Paterson, New Jersey, US.[2][3]
He entered theĀ comic stripĀ field in 1950 and worked on several strips, includingĀ Kerry Drake,Ā Little IodineĀ andĀ Bunny. InĀ comic booksĀ he was the last artist doingĀ Little LuluĀ before it was cancelled in 1984.
From 1986 until 2006 (when the strip went into reruns), he wrote and drewĀ The Katzenjammer Kids. An interview with Eisman on his career appeared inĀ Hogan’s AlleyĀ #15 (2007).[2]
From 1994 until 2022, he wrote and drew theĀ Sunday stripsĀ forĀ Popeye.[4]Ā In December 2008, Eisman re-introduced the character ofĀ BlutoĀ to theĀ PopeyeĀ Sunday strips, as the twin brother of Brutus.
