I’ll be at the Angoulême Comics Festival to launch the French edition of Ex Libris!

Hi everyone, this one will be of special interest to my readers in Europe and/or artists/publishers who are going to the festival this year:

L’Association is bringing me to Angoulême next week for a special pre-release launch of Ex-libris (gotta add that hyphen to appease the Académie Française!). Here’s the poster by this year’s grand prix winner, Julie Doucet:

I’ll be signing every day at the Association booth (Nouveau Monde, stand N15) and will otherwise be wandering around and hitting some of the exhibits (Julie Doucet opening on Wednesday, Maison des Auteurs on Thursday—and on Wednesday afternoon I have to go take pictures of the Attack on Titan show for my 12-year-old).

In addition to Ex-Libris, I’ll be signing Le Pont, the French version of Bridge, various Oubapo books, and, of course, 99 Exercices de Style!

…But wait, that’s not all!
After the festival, I will be making three more stops in Europe before heading home, likely as exhausted as exhilirated:

January 30
I will be in Barcelona at the amazing-looking Llibreria Finestres where I will be joined for a conversation about comics with none other than the renowned contemporary artist Francesc Ruiz!

January 31
I’ll be in Madrid doing a signing at a bookstore called Generación X, but I’m not sure which one! check your local guía de ocio, I guess.

February 1
Ok, this is getting a little ridiculous, but since I had to spend the night in Paris anyway before my flight home, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to do a signing at Philippe le libraire, my favorite hole-in-the-wall comics shop in Paris.

One last item: Banff application deadline is JANUARY 25!
