Hilo, Phoebe and Her Unicorn, and Friends, an exhibition of original artwork from four innovative talents who are creating some of the most popular and entertaining comics for young readers today. From school libraries and playgrounds to comic shops to bookstores, these graphic novels including Hilo, Phoebe and Her Unicorn, Jukebox, and Amelia Erroway: Castaway Commander bring joy and delight to young audiences and readers of all ages with their humor and their innovative storytelling.

I Left my Art in San Francisco

Less than half a century after the fabled Gold Rush, San Francisco’s thriving economy and growing population established the City by the Bay as a vibrant artistic and literary hub, as a host of talented creators and publishers made their home in the Bay Area.

Emerging Artist Showcase: Melissa Pagluica

The Cartoon Art Museum presents the art of Melissa Pagluica in the latest installment of its ongoing Emerging Artist Showcase. This exhibit features a selection of Pagluica’s favorite pages from her debut graphic novel Above the Clouds. Melissa Pagluica is a full time artist residing in Oakland, California. She has worked as a cover artist for publishers such as Boom! Studios and Vault Comics and as a freelance illustrator. She is best known for her webcomic Above the Clouds which she self-published in a complete hardcover edition through Kickstarter in 2022. Her current project, Monster Heart, can be read on Webtoon Canvas.

View replicas of the batsuit worn by Michael Keaton in 1989’s Batman; the Val Kilmer Panther Batman and Sonar Batman suits; the George Clooney Batman; Christian Bale’s Batman from The Dark Knight; and the Ben Affleck Bat Armor from Batman vs. Superman. Numerous replica hand props and weapons from all the films and some from the 1960s TV show starring Adam West will also be on hand.
