Al 1917 risale “O Kaiser”, considerato il primo “disegno animato” realizzato in Brasile (regista Álvaro Marins, noto come Seth) e dopo più di un secolo il Festival di Annecy celebra l’animazione carioca (che negli ultimi anni si è particolarmente distinta ai premi assegnati in riva al lago) con numerosi programmi dedicati e omaggi non solo video ma anche sonori.
Perché, diciamocelo: come si fa a parlare del Brasile senza ricorrere alla musica?

Just like every year at the Annecy Festival, second-year students at GOBELINS, l’école de l’image, have once again taken part in the creation of animated opening credits, which will be shown before each screening.
This year they have deployed their talent around the theme of Brazil, whose animation is being honoured. The students wanted to celebrate the country’s cultural energy in five opening credits. The Faculdade Melies de Tecnologia in São Paulo was involved in this process, and its students also created their own animation. Finally, music students from the Conservatoire municipal Paul Dukas in Paris set the different films to music.
It is the collective, colourful and musical work of these budding directors and musicians that will be revealed by the Festival throughout the week.
