@annecyfestival 2017: il MIFA diventa “extralarge”!

Following ten years of uninterrupted growth that has seen participation double, the Mifa is taking on a new dimension to keep pace with its development and continuously improve reception and exchange conditions for participants.

an

Bigger!

The main Mifa area’s going to get a new floor of over 1,000 m² where you’ll find the welcome area, and areas for public organisations and schools, as well as space for technical service providers and recruiting studios.

This reorganisation will free up the ground floor space for the Conferences, previously based at the Chambre de métiers, to join the Impérial Palace.

Longer!

The ever-increasing number of participants, the richness of the programme and the decision makers’ attendance throughout Festival week have motivated the decision to extend the Market to 4 full days, giving delegates the opportunity for more networking.

Something new for 2017

Co-production, financing projects, circulation of works and the transfer of expertise will once again make up the pillars of the programme presented to participants: the Territory Focus, Share With, Meet the Festival Programmers and Meet the Funds sessions, the Video Library, Pitch sessions and Animation du Monde will be back again, along with a new session, Meet the Publishers, aimed at producers and book publishers.

Consistent with its continuing commitment to incite contact between industry professionals and emerging talent, Mifa 2017 will inaugurate the Mifa Campus.

Dedicated mainly to students and young talent from emerging countries in animation, the Mifa Campus will offer workshops and presentations with an editorial line aiming to encourage a greater understanding of the industry and the possibility to meet up with well-known industry names whose careers are inspiring and energizing.

The Mifa Campus will complement the Recruitment sessions, which experienced considerable growth at last year’s Market.

“By facilitating contact between talents and professionals, the Mifa is now positioned not only as the leading trade Market for animation, but also as a springboard and an invaluable source for studios whose growth is highly dependent on attracting the best profiles.”
