For the Mifa, 2015 has a particular significance as the Market will be blowing out its thirty candles and, especially for the occasion, giving some  well-known figures from the world of animation the opportunity to express themselves in keynote speeches. A very promising, warm and welcoming event in store as guest country, Spain, will also be part of the celebrations.

The Annecy Festival is already weaving its web and setting the bar high to provide both the public and professionals an event of great quality for 2015. New for the feature film category in 2015: only  features that have not been released in France up to the beginning of the Festival will be able to compete. Back to Bonlieu! The Festival will be returning to Bonlieu. After two and a half years of renovation and extension, the theatre has had a complete makeover and is ready to welcome festivalgoers once again.

Women in the spotlight: Annecy is eager to acknowledge the contribution of women and their growing role in the history of animation. To this end, the Festival organisation has confided the task of creating the official poster to Regina Pessoa, well-known personality in the world of animation and winner of the Annecy Cristal in 2006 for her short Tragic Story with Happy Ending. Her poster will be revealed in March 2015. This feminine spotlight will also take various other forms including an all-female jury,  programmes of films by women directors, a  tribute to female animation pioneers made through films specially created by students from GOBELINS, l’école de l’image and many other surprises.

Annecy 2015 in Spanish time! 2015 will honour Spain as guest country and explore the multiple facets of  Spanish animation. Special programmes, the launch of a DVD book,  conferences… the colours of Spain will be pervading the Festival programme and well represented at the film Market.”
