I just ran onto this info published on the website http://www.darkhorizons.com (28 august 2001): "Tintin: The Movie: Belgian newspapers are reporting that Spieberg has had contact with the Herge estate about turning the internationally successful illustated books into a CG animated movie. The Director picked up and later abandoned the film rights back in the 80's. With Jaco Van Dormael and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Spielberg is the third movie maker who would be working on Tintin's adaptation."
Selon le site américain http://www.darkhorizons.com, la presse belge ferait état de contacts entre Spielberg et la fondation Hergé afin d'adapter Tintin en film animé par images de synthèses. L'information a été publiée le mercredi 28 août 2001. Steven Spielberg avait déjà pris une option pour l’adaptation du personnage avant d’abandonner le projet au début des années 80. Après Jaco Van Dormael et Jean-Pierre Jeunet, il serait le troisième cinéaste à s’intéresser actuellement à la transposition de Tintin sur grand écran.Laurent Melikian
