L'esperto Pascal Lefevre ci comunica di aver da poco saputo che la nota ricercatrice belga Patricia Vansummeren, quarantatreenne, che tra l'altro ha collaborato al convegno (e al relativo volume) "Forging a New Medium. The Comic Strip in the Nineteenth Century" (sulle origini del fumetto, cui partecipammo a nome del Centro Nazionale del Fumetto - Anonima Fumetti nel 1996), si è suicidata all'interno del suo museo.

We receive from Pascal Lefevre: It's with sadness that I have to inform you about the death of a prominent Belgian researcher of early comic strips. Patricia Vansummeren, who collaborated on "Forging a New Medium. The Comic Strip in the Nineteenth Century" passed away some months ago. She was only 43 years. A Belgian journal wrote last week that she commited suicide in her museum of folklore in Antwerp. It's a great loss.
